Time for a new clutch?

  1. #1
Got a 04 vectra c. My clutch biting point seems very high compared to my other cars and every now and then it has a day of slipping when joining motorway etc. But most of the time it doesn't slip however the biting point is very high. Time for a new clutch?

I'm getting a grinding noise from the Rear brakes, when I press the brake pedal so I assume it is the pads, however the abs light also keeps comming on but resets when I turn the car off and restart it. It will then come on again 2 or 3 days later? Does the abs and worn pads sound related? Thsnks

Sounds like you need the following

New set brake disk and pads disc depending on how warn they are.

New abs sensor. You will need a error code reader to read what one is causing this, maybe when it comes on leave it alone and get into a garage to get the code read and find out what one is the cause. Or you could change the pads and disc then see if the sensor comes on if does time to get codes read finding out what one is the cause and has fault on it.

Slipping disc and high bite point is often needing new clutch time to get it checked over and get a free halfords safety check done no cost to it takes about an hour will tell you what is wrong and parts needed and then you can simply buy parts elsewhere and get work done at a local garage.
