Saxo vtr revs itself and struggles to start

    Hi for the past 3 days my vtr has started to rev on its own. It slowly rises to about 2/3k and then drops back down and will keep doing it. Friday morning it started to rev higher and rising quicker almost got to 5k which I then turned it off and left it for a minute when I started it back up it was struggling to tick over. When driving and you put the clutch down is when it does it and when it's stood ticking over. Had the idle control off and cleaned it put it back on and drove it for about 10 miles after and seemed fine. Just went to go out and now it's struggling to start it's as if the revs don't pick up enough for it to fire up. Sorry if my explanation is not the best as Iv literally wrote it as it is. Any info would be great! Cheers

    Had somewhat the same issues, changed the TPS and it helped a bit, then used a genuine one and it went back to normal

    To the op,check for vacuum leaks,if that's fine move onto the coil pack & plugs.
