Right basically at the mo I have Janspeed manifold back exhuast system with the de cat.

I am planning on a Janspeed manifold next week along with a 275/285 cam along with a remap.

Anyone else got similar mods and like to share the RR figues? I rekon it will be around 125 bhp? Sound about right? Im new to all this guessing shiz

first off i think you need to decided what mods you actually have!!!

but anyway, im guessin you've got the 98bhp VTR, so lets say you have the manifold, then whack a cam in it and get a re-map (which will set you back bout £900 just for the cam, fitting, and a re-map) your looking at about 115bhp 120bhp absolute max matey! should keep with a standard VTS JUST, get yourself a green enclosed induction kit to go with it and then your keepin up with the VTS's hope this helps!

My current exhuast system is from the manifold back. So the only standard bit of the exhaust is the manifold.

I will be fitting the cam myself so its really just the cost of a remap and a RR day.

    100 bhp standard

    Decat gives me 5
Manifold and rest of exhuast another 5.

Is it alot to expect 15 bhp from a cam and remap then?

ive got 138 bhp at the flywheel but thats from spending about 3k thats from modified cam and the like.only problem is wont pass m-o-t now what with the cam and no cat.ive got an understanding garage though.

Just to give you an idea: my old vtr with a scorpion full decatted system, supersprint manifold 4-2-1, viper induction an iridium plugs gained 17bhp from a 90bhp mk1. I think yours will be pushing if the 98bhp an with all mods stated around 127bhp

Plus imo you would be lucky to see 3bhp from a decat

firstly, they only come with either 98bhp or 90bhp standard not 100bhp stop tryin to claim 2 extra break and secondly, you will NO WAY get 5 horses from a decat.

Ok I stand corrected. I can see the only way to solve this will be a RR day. Thanks for the help! Ill keep you posted.

i have a piper 285 cam 4-2-1 manifold, full decat system from manifold back, enclosed induction carbon fibre, and remapped not sure on bhp fiqures but i would think it would be around the 120bhp mark, make sure you know how to set the cam timing up cause i just had to get my done today costing me another £70

Yer I had been expecting to have to pay another 50 to 100 quid for a remap

Argh Im all confused, I have been looking at re mapable ECUs where companys charge around 70 quid an hour to tinker on the RR. Thats where my figure came from.

But as I understand re mapable ECUs are forking expensive aswell. Ya?
