Just wondering if anyone one here knows if the 106 GTI cup car cams are any good power wise. And if they are like any other cam so that i can compare them.
All help appreciated
Thanks

Was thinkin about going for them. I want it drivable aswell so they might be good. i would be happy with 15bhp. it would be plenty for me.

When you factor in the cost of the remap its not a cheap mod so its important to get it right. PT51s are a much better choice IMO and are still drivable low down

campdavid runs pt51 and sees 160 brake. catcams 708's are very popular at the moment which again are seeing the same gains with a remap. these are cheaper also with the other difference being they run slightly lesser low down than the kents but have a bit more at the top. kents producing throughout the rev range. choice is yours.
I can get them for good money fitted and rolling roaded.
Not looking major gains.
Its an everyday car so need a few mpg too. If a could get 8-10 brake from them i would be happy.
They r something like £300+ each. I m gettin both and fitted and rolling roaded for less that the price of 1 not fitted.
Do u think 8-10 is possible?
Plus the guy fitting them is really good. Really knows his stuff.

so for 300 pound your having cams (take it ther brand new), fitting and a remap. that sounds dodgy to me. how well do you know him? cant you ask him what profile the cams are?
you should be looking at 350 for catcams, fitting 150, remap 450.

iirc their exact specs aren't known. except for manafacturer.
newmans cams also have good specs and are the same price as the cats.
if i bought my cams new i would have gone for newmans.
