106 gti (saxo ) ;) gearbox stiff after a long holiday from the road

   been about a year since its been driven, seems to go into gear alright with a bit of force, could it be something as simple as sludgy oil?
   
   i should add i know next to nothing about car maintenance

   It may be ok once you've driven around a bit if it continues to be difficult i'd recommend changing the gearbox oil

   cheers, i only really know when things are broken when its too late lol, need to get myself educated a bit more on cars, i snapped the linkage putting it in reverse at work one day, got that sorted that day though.
   
   hopefully got a set of wheels lined up to go on it so i can get it mot'd, hoping to turning this into a running project, would like to achieve at least 200ish bhp out of it to scare the scooby n evo crowd

   I would just change the oil if it were me... You could be experiencing other problems though, linkages may be worn to hell....
