Can I vinyl wrap bad paint

   The roof on my french car has gone the way of most french cars I know. Is it ok to wrap in this state? It doesnt feel very rough, in fact its surprising smooth, and what lacquer is left isn't just flaking away.

   better off painting that, vinyl will lift what is left of the laquer and the rough finish will show through.

   you could always give it a quick sand down and re lacquer it or repaint it before you wrap it, its not like you could make it look any worse anyways

   Any recommendations on a brand of vinyl or where to buy? I guess matte will be easy to hide faults then a gloss finish?

   no, matt finish shoes more up if anything.
   
   any vinyl designed for outdoor use will do, you'll see if it listed by its lifespan.
