Satchshift left right play

   Hi all, my satchshift has been fitted today and there is play left and right, we drilled the selector arm out to 8mm today and put an M8 bolt through it, we couldn't do it up completely as after a while the head stopped us getting a spanner/socket on, although this wouldn't cause the play surely as the bolt was a real tight fit, why have I got left and right play and the satchshift doesn't Spring back to centre? What do I need to do? Thanks

   The M8 bolt is a really tight fit into the selector arm, there is the slightest movement on the arm left to right and there is in and out movement on the arm, would the in and out movement cause the play through the satchshift? It doesn't feel tight as such through the gears it feels quite sloppy; putting a washer behind that to reduce the in and out movement would that sort out the left and right wobble when in gear? Also how can I tighten the throw? Didn't come with instructions!

   better off using a Roll pin like the BE boxes.

   The ma boxes still use the roll pin? And I know mate but it kept coming out round track hence why drilling and bolting it, would a roll pin be even stiffer although it's drilled to size with the correct size bolt? What size roll pin will I need if it's drilled to 8mm, slightly bigger so it's tight when compresses or?

   ma dont use a roll pin, just a straight round pin.
   
   the be uses a 6mm roll pin in a 6mm hole but also a second 3mm pin inside it.

   I'm not sure what the selector arm is made from but maybe welding it on could be an option? I put a roll pin in mine and although it is better I don't think it completely removed play

   Got my head under the bonnet earlier and got the brother in law to wiggle the gearstick left to right, the linkages are moving instantly trace it back to the arm with the left and right movement. It doesn't look like the bolt is moving seems to be the whole arm in situ with the bolt, however it isn't 100% done up as we couldn't get a spanner on any more due to the arm getting in the way. Does this mean the play is in the box? Or is it because the bolt is loose? If I change it to a roll pin will that eliminate play as I do have an m8 roll pin knocking about
   
   Also the washer mod what is that designed to do? As could do this when the arm is off?

   I just fitted my satchshift for MA had a bit of play once fitted but I had a play about with it adjusted the linkages and the rod that goes through the bulk head and it took all the play out of the system of it helps lol

   The washer mod will stop the forward and backward play but not left and right, left and right is probably actual box play rather than anything else, if the bolt is tight and the arm still moves then it's gunna be box play.
