How to preload the front wishbone bush correctly?

   Haynes doesn't specify anything but surely you don't want to tighten this is up with the car on stands? How would you go to preload the bush correctly? Would a jack under the brake disc that puts weight on the strut work? As that is much easier opposed to just drop the car on the ground and tighten the bolt from there as I don't see that being possible due to the lack of space,many thanks.

   drop it and turn the steering wheel.

   Alternatively drop it onto ramps.

   If you know exactly how far to jack the strut it would also do the job! It's knowing though which isnt something people have to hand!
