I'm sorry for the stupid question but which way do I press out the front strut wheel bearing? It's kind of hard to see with all the corrosion,no help from Haynes manual,it does say which direction for the hub flange but that's obvious, many thanks.
Front wheel bearing removal.

#2You need to press the actual hub out of the front which will come out with part of the inner race still attached to it which you will probably need to grind off or something, then for the rest of the bearing that's left in the strut you need to take out the snap ring from the back and press it out of the back of the strutQuote:I'm sorry for the stupid question but which way do I press out the front strut wheel bearing? #3Thank you,I already took out the hub which came off quickly with a hammer and socket and the inner race came off with it,I took out the snap ring as well,I still have the inner race on the other side of the bearing so I can just use that to press it out from the front, will give that a go,thanks.

#4All done now, used one of these:

Once the bearing was "shocked" undone and moved slightly it came out pretty easily, used a breaker bar for this, the bolt is a M22 so adeguate for the job,can also be used with an impact,as you were saying infact once it's off you can see the lip on the front hence you need to push it from the back, time for some Deox-C and some Electrox now.

#5Good stuff
it is a bit difficult to see what's going on with it when they're all crusted up with rust though yeah lol

#6I would never use an impact wrench on a tool like this, surefire method to wreck the threads.
useful if you haven't access to a press, or a helpful garage. -
#7I wouldn't have thought an impact would damage the threads as it's probably hardened stuff anyway and even the description says it can be used with an impact so they'd have to replace it if damaged anyways
