Alternator doesn't work at idle?

   Hello, I just bought a Saxo 1.5D
   Yesterday evening I saw something annoying, when the car is at idle lights are dimming. I measured how the battery is being charged and the results are:
   12.8V on idle
   14V with higher than 1000rpm
   
   What the problem could be and how can I check it ?

   New alternator time, just out of interest how many amps does the alternator give at idle compared to 3k rpm?
   If the amperage is random then my guess is the voltage regulator in the alternator is gone and needs replacing, you should get a decent Bosch alternator for around £60 at Andrew page or none brand (blueprint) for cheaper.
   
   Also what condition is the battery in

   Wouldn't hurt to check the alternator drivebelt at the same time.
