Saxo 1,4 97' sudeenly wont start

   I have tried to find same problem in the forum, but i dont see any with exactly same oroblem. My Saxo worked all fine until i parked it. Next day i turned the key, i could hear one "boof" from the exhaust pipe, and the engine warning lamp came on. Now its totally dead. Fuel pump works, i can smell the gas when i try starting it, but the warning lamp for engine stays on from turning the ignition key. Inobiliser is disconnected on this one. It was -10 degrees outside, so it was pretty cold. No idea what to check......

   Won't crank or won't start?
   
   Won't crank could be the motor frozen up if it doesn't have anti-freeze in it.

   My english is not that good, so what do you mean with crank? The engine turnes nicely, and has compression and you can smell gass after a while....
