Clutch cable to hydraulic conversion

  1. #1
Hello, I am looking to convert my VTR engine/gearbox clutch from cable to hydraulic and was wondering who has done it before? What slave cylinder fits? And thrust bearing arm? I don't need to worry about pedal/master cylinder side of things because it will have a floor mounted pedal box.

    Thanks in advance.

Never done the conversion but PSA converted the gearbox on newer cars to actuate hydraulically as standard. May be a good starting point to get the parts from.

easy if you fit a be4 box, factory parts for the clutch actuation.

    a word of warning
I have seen 4 different varieties of floor mounted bias pedal boxs for saxo and 106 and NONE of them are any good due to limited space around column +floor height and where the pedals end up and leverage ratios of the brake pedal .
I had to fit hydraulic clutch for my squential box due pedal load with my clutch --so i know
only version i have seen that would work well is the tilton or AP racing undefloor mounted type --but they are serious money .
and to fit you need to bury them in the floor pan which is lots of fabrication to make a box in floor to fit them
the car just does not suit this type of set up unless it is left hand drive where you can fit brake pedal direct on to back of servo or have master cylinders in engine bay .
brakes on LHD cars are twice as good as std due to no cross shaft linkage .
just my view from experience of being asked to fit some in the past --
