Depends on the limp home safety map to be honest. Most do overfuel to try and limit engine damage that is the result of running lean for extended periods of time, so yeah, you might get the effect you're looking for.
Personally, I think that actions like that in the long term, are a risk to your engine.
If you must have extra pops and bangs, my recommendation would be to get a mapper to add a little timing retard through the deceleration sections of the map, along with a squeeze more fuel demand, and turning off fuel cut if that's possible.
