   No. Absolutely NO.
   
   An early VTR has a 55-way connector the same as the 16v so it will physically fit.
   
   VTR uses Bosch, VTS uses Magneti Marelli. Pinouts are very different and damage to loom or ECU would be extremely likely.
   
   Mid-age VTR (Bosch MP7.2) uses what would be an 88-way connector but has a row of pins missing. These are unique to VTR.
   
   Later 'three-plug' cars use Bosch M7.4.4 on VTR and Marelli 48P.2 on VTS/GTi. Again, the connectors may fit but the pinout is different.
