Saxo Door Write-Off??

  1. #1
Morning! I seem to having a problem with my passenger door!! Storm doris seemed to have grabbed it one day and flung it so hard that there has been a tear in a 'hinge' in the door.

I have spoken to a friend who has told me that it is a write off because of it but I refuse to believe that!! I have spent hours looking to see if you can replace or repair it but I am finding more information for the hinge that has bolts attached.

I have tried to add a photo but having no luck! BUT!! its not the hinge that is attached with bolts, it looks like it has been welded on/attatched to the body of the car?

If I can add a photo I will but surely it cant be a write-off if you can replace the door anyway?

it will need to be re-welded to the chassis, it can be done if you can find a good welder/fabricator

You can upload your photo to something like imgur and then paste the BBCode tag here. Interested to see what you mean as the hinge on one of my doors is a bit torn up.

take it to a decent garage... anyone whos a half decent welder will fic it pretty easy.

im guessing its the check strap thats been ripped out? or actual hinge? either way... its not the end of the world. lining it up will be a cunt though if its the hinge haha

it would be a "write off" if you claimed on youre insurance.. any claim against a saxo would be now theyre old cars.
