Fitting a 1.5 Diesel Radiator Fitting

  1. #1
    Hello all,

Probably more aimed towards the turbo / charger guys who have relocated their ECU so they can run the separate expansion tank.

    EDIT -
(Answered my own question but ill put it up here so others who look for this can find it easier)

    1307 V1 - Expansion Tank - (Requires ECU Relocation)

    1306 C7 - 1.4 Bar Radiator Cap

1307 PQ - ENGINE WATER PIPE - From Expansion to Thermostat

1351 J6 - ENGINE WATER PIPE - From Expansion to Radiator

    Then either;

1301 VT - ENGINE RADIATOR NEW - UNTIL RPO 08568

    1330 92 - ENGINE RADIATOR NEW - ALUMINIUM - P012 - - SINCE RPO 08569

Right with the above information and the fact I don't want to relocate the ECU I am forced to look for a different header tank to use with the system..

Who here runs an alloy header tank? What size did you go for and did it fit in front of the ecu bracket on the passenger side?

Is there a way of attaching a hose to the VTS thermostat housing or again is it a case of t-piecing?

any reason why you want the diesel rad?

to aid room for my turbo setup in the bay... do you have one fitted?

    - Does anyone know if the thermostat housing connection is needed?

    Edit:

I don't want to spend time messing about with the citroen header tank tool for bleeding (another perk of using a diesel system as the top hose will be lower then the header tank)

I've done this to my turbo vts . I've basically got a direnza alloy rad with the header tank chopped off . Using a silicon hose to the water pump as you would normally.

I've then put a T piece in the silicon hose up into the header tank. Made an alloy t piece which measured 30-16-30 In mm's . I've looped both the pipes from the original plastic header tank .

This works for me , no air trapped in the system and sits at correct temperature.

If you like pictures I can get some for you
