Worrying issue

   Hello guys and girls
   
   I'm having a little trouble with my saxo, my rear driver side wheel is loose when I shake it and it makes a horrible noise, it's also leaning in at a slight angle and slightly rubbing on my wheel arch, I'm no machanic so I don't really know the cause or how to fix it
   
   If anyone could offer and help/advice on this it will be greatly appreciated

   Few things possible, check shock on that side, wheel bearing or get a new or refreshed rear axle..

   Sounds like read axle stub pin is shot so new rear axle will be required common on these cars

   Thanks guys would I be better off buying a new car or can you pick up the rear axle quite cheap? Ill first have a new bearing refitted to eliminate that issue, thanks again

   can get refurbed axles off eBay or used ones depends how much u wanna spend really

   It will be the axle, I doubt the wheel bearing could be bad enough for it to let the wheel touch the inner arch and if it was the wheel would have fallen off by now lol.. Best bet is a refurbished axle which is around 200, you could get a used one for like 50-100 but its always a risk whether it will be bad, guess it depends what the car means to you and if its worth repairing.

   I love the car to bits but if it going to cost me more than I'm willing to spend there's no real point keeping it, it's quick and I looks/sounds nice, I'll have a look around for a new axle and hopefully find one cheap enough to replace it

   Hello guys and girls just an update, my cousin is a machanic and I've just been to his garage today, he's had a look and he's confirmed it's the axle, I have a Peugeot 106 sat on my driveway which is currently known as "shagged" and the rear axle will fit on my saxo
   ( so I'm told) the only problem is my Peugeot axle is a 3 stud where as my saxo is a 4, is there a way of converting from a 3 to a 4? Thanks guys

    Yeah just use the hubs from your axle and switch them over, you will need to swap the outer stub pins with them. May be worth switching the torsion bars and anti roll bar over too.

    Just done it all mate the wheels are aligned and everything's working perfectly thanks everyone
