instrument panel/speedo electrical problem

  1. #1
    Hello!
I got the strangest problem with my speedometer(working Alternately), when he just stays at zero or drops to zero.
I have replaced the speedometer sensor with new original one, the teath on the cog-wheel were complete.
That didnt do the trick so i suspect the instrument panel because sometimes when I switch the car off it seems he stops geting any electricity at all! not showing Time or KM but ignition is fine.

I am attaching a link so you guys can see.. is anyone ever ecountered that? what is the cause?

    I have your solution!

Add solder to all the connector pins on the back of the clocks print.. The yellow and black connectors. These connections get bad and give a bad contact with the plugs..

Did it at two saxo's already.. Problem solved!

    Yes, these two connectors.

Add solder on the back on of them ofcourse.. Just do not add to much

Apologies for commenting on another post but cant work out how to start a new post.

I have a Saxo 1.1, recently replaced the dash as the fuel gauge wasnt working ( New dash sourced from scrapyard)

Having connected it the speedo is reading 10 mph less than I am doing and sitting at what looks like -10 when she is stationary.

Disconnected it and realligned to zero but as soon as reconnected to ignition has dropped past zero not sure what the issue is or how to fix it.

    Please help!!
