Rotisserie

Basically I just wanted to know if anyone on here has used a rotisserie/car roller/spit whatever you want to call it on a saxo?

Ive seen a few reasonably priced ones for sale and thinking it may be worth the money as it would make it a lot easier to work on the underside of the car, the main issue is how to attach it to the car, would the rear panel be strong enough to hold the car without bending? I guess the front should be ok on the chassis legs..

this is for a long term project by the way as I want to strip the whole underside.

    thanks

You can use them on any car you will just need to make brackets and mount points to the strongest parts, normally the rear bumper beams. If it was me I would use weld on if you are using it for any amount of time and cut it off. Also be aware the cheap eBay stuff is crap. The Car'o'liner one at my old work cost over 7k just for the assurance it wouldn't fail.

i've seen them custom made, usually mount through the chassis and front bumper mounts..

that's how I'm building mine anyhow but you wont be able to use it with engine / suspension etc in situ.

Cheers, I think ill be ok making it work on the front via the chassis legs but will have another look at the back end, car is pretty much bare shell other than a couple of bits left in the interior. By the way does anyone know roughly what weight a bare shell is?

Roughly the weight of a wheelbarrow lol.
