I've owned my Chav car for about 4 months, its a great nippy first car however the engine is making a ticking noise and the exhaust Is chugging... I've recorded a video to try and narrow it down.

#2Tappets,low oil/pressure are 2 possible causes. Also is it drinking oil?

#3Valve clearance needs doing.

#4Thanks for the replies! Oil Is being topped up monthly, theres a tiny leak under the exhaust manifold? (Directly under engine) theres a cable that it's dripping from. I'll have to research valve clearance any good links? I'm pretty handy so it might be worth doing myself to save

#5Take alternator belt of for a minute see if it goes away mine had an irritating noise that was just the old alternator but it lived

#7If your exhaust is blowing, fix that first. No point doing the valve clearances if you've got an exhaust blow that's ticking

Oil leak below the manifold could (rarely) be the oil pressure switch, more likely to be the rocker cover leaking and running down the block and onto said wire. If you're topping it up monthly and there's no blue smoke the source of the leak should be pretty obvious if you use a good engine degreaser to clean it first.
Other sources of leaks can be the dipstick tube, some models have a joint half way up and an o ring which age hardens. if you drive the car hard then the oil vapour can create quite a mess.
Sump, these dont have gaskets and require really good cleaning with sump sealant. someone might have not done this properly and it's just running past the joint.
I'm sure you've checked your oil filter is tight? if you have a spin on metal one. -
#8Oil filter can leak too if it's past it's changing date.
