Important! : Saxo idle issue

  1. #1
Dear friends i have one strange issue with my saxo (1.0 CDZ). It revs itself..especially when hot. If you are driving it is ok..when putting in neutral it starts to rev itself (revs are jumping up n down) for a while then normalize. Sometimes idle goes so low that car starts to shake and almost cuts out.
I tried to search for vacuum leaks, none. Diagnostic tool shows lambda fault..so i tried to replace lambda (3 different lambdas) but no success..still the same. Also unplugging lambda didnt help. So my question is?? What the f*** is wrong with this car? I have no idea what to replace. I also tried to replace idle control valve but still the same. All the parts were from scrapyard but i doubt 3 lambdas would be bad and idle motors too. So i think i have another issue. Coolant temperature sensor was replaced too.

So what would it be? Scanner shows lambda, unplugging didnt make any difference.

    What year is the saxo?

It is 1999. Recently (20000km ago) i also replaced headgasket. It was done properly..so that couldnt be a problem.

Maybe it is the throttle butterfly position sensor?

It will be a fuel trim fault?

The lambda sends a signal (rich or lean) if it sends the same signal for too long the ECU flags it up. it doesn't mean its faulty.

If you have a sticky injector, for example, the car could be lean on one cylinder. that would trigger a "lambda fault" when the sensor isn't faulty.

Saxo 1.0 doesnt have injectors.it has single point injection..
