Power steering pipe

  1. #1
Lowered my saxo, read about the power steering pipe, did nothing about it, and now I'm leaking power steering fluid haha

Is it the high pressure pipe I need or the return pipe?

Found these two but not sure which one I needed (linked below). I also read that others suggest a mk1 pipe because they're flexi? Anyone know of anyone still selling these?

Being that the fluid is only dripping out when I lock the wheel either way, not squirting out with pressure, I'm going to assume it's the return pipe.

I've ordered that, will update this thread when I find out whether I've ordered the right one or not (I've lost my Haynes manual)

Okay, pipe arrived today, it wasn't the pipe. Steering rack boot gaiter's gone.

Raise your suspension or modify the rod ends.

Steering rack gaiter can't leak though? You mean the seal inside on which the "shaft" runs?

that looks more like power steering fluid to me, the steering rack wouldnt leak allover everything cos its just grease its not a runny liquid.

Degrease the whole lot, then you'll have a better idea of where the fluid is coming from.

I shouldn't have updated the thread really until I'd looked more haha.

So, got a new boot as it needed it anyway, but yeah, the high pressure pipe was at fault - ordered a new one as I'd ordered the low pressure one before. (pics to follow)
