Service reminder to 0 overnight

    Hello.

Firstly i've used the search on here and google with no real relevant results.

My car is a 2001 106 rallye, basically the same as VTS saxo. Yesterday the service reminder went suddenly from 9000+km to showing zero.

The car has had some maintenance done recently, oils filters liquids etc. Im not sure about belts or more major maintenance as the car has not been with me for too long yet(and the fkin service booklet is in greek because thats where I live now ). I know the counter wasnt reset then, but didnt matter to me as i knew the mileage.

I know how to reset it, but im just wondering is there some other sensor but mileage that the service light/spanner reacts to? Something more crucial in the engine department? I dont want to just reset it and end up snapping a belt or destroying something else because it wasnt checked up.

Thanks for your inputs boys and girls.

I think it purely counts down based on mileage. it's maybe just spuriously reset, these are getting old now after all so weird faults will pop up from time to time.

How can you alter the time? I know you can programme the mileage interval.

Mine drove bugger all miles for 3 years and never set itself to 0 miles to service
