Furio to VTR question

  1. #1
Alright chaps, I'm replacing my furio engine for a VTR one (both 3 plug) I've got the VTR doner car and used the search function on here for the info on unlocking the ecu before removing the immobiliser box, which worked a treat thanks
All I want to know is the correct way of fitting the VTR ecu, ignition barrell and ring and the immobiliser box in to my furio and do I need to unlock the furio ecu before removing that??

Unplug your Furio immobiliser box. plug in your (now unlocked) VTR ECU to the furio engine loom and that's it, you can keep the original furio key and everything.

you never need to change the ring, it's just a coil of wire.

The proper way to do it, is to simply fit the VTR ECU, the VTR immobliser box and fit the VTR chip into the furio key or swap the whole barrel so you can use the original VTR key. That means the immobiliser will work properly too.

As I'm sure you're aware, the Furio engine loom will work with the VTR engine loom.

Yes the engine loom is identical
Thanks for the info, so if I fit the vtr immobiliser box would it be easy to swap the chip in to my furio key? Tbh I bought a new unused lock set last year (intermediate power steering loss) so I may look into getting it programmed.

Not sure how to swap the chip, it depends on the key. If it's a solid blade and handle it's fiddly. The keys you can open up are easy (models with central locking etc)
