Overheating

    Hello all my 1.4 auto Saxo has an overheating issue, the system has been bled for air locks but as soon as the temp gauge reaches the middle it starts over heating and the temp gauge continues to climb. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing the issue?

    Is the fan working on the car?

    If it reaches the middle then instantly goes over I would have considered the thermostat? Someone will correct me if I'm wrong though.

    Is it actually overheating?

    My GTi used to do this, it would hit the red then fall back to half again and do that constantly. but it actually wasnt overheating. Checked it with a thermometer
