problems with lowering just on springs

   has any1 came across any probles with lowering 50mm on just springs, eg your drive shaft rubbing on the cassise of the car . this what happend to me !!! also it it is ok why has this done this is it my mate stuck my spring up side down!!!

   too low for comfort IMO..
   35mm max just on springs..

   im going 40 mm on jsut springs its fine, Its recommended any lower than 40mm and you should be using full suspension kits, shocks, springs, etc!

   what do kits usually consist of? dampers, shockers and springs right?
   
   iv already got the springs (50mm) and theyre being fitted on tuesday. does anyone reckon ill be ok or should i buy better dampers or shockers to be on the safe side?

   dampners and shocks are the same thing. drops on springs are just a cheap alternative for looks. if your not bothered bout handling then springs will do. it may be worse though

   its not going on a track so handling isnt too important but id like it to be decent enough to take a thrashing once in a while. im not bothered about the ride being too bumpy as long the car doestt lift off the road lol

    you should be fine mate, i think gary put his springs on upside down.
    you should of posted a thread titled lowering on 50mm springs before you went a head. you may have some rubbing

    nah iv had that checked out by a couple of people and it shouldnt rub, im dropping it on VTS alloys and apparently you can go 60mm without any archwork on those, plus the offsets already correct.

    The only problems i may see is that if your lowering only with springs on 50mm then your putting alot of pressure on your shocks so expect to be replacing them soon.

    yeah shax, 50mm wont be a problem but as mentioned the shocks will suffer in the long run.

    try autec down the road from you, or that performance shop we went past on the way to that kart place. its got like a blue background and silver writing. theres tons of shops round you area.

    35mm lowering is the best! any lower and it'll rub and you will be forever buying driveshafts!

    tunehall citroen - its this little garage near Dewsbury, old guy working there has done Citroens for ages so pretty sure he knows what hes doing. hes quoted me £110 for putting in the springs and doing the torsion bars.

    ive never been to a meet lol. i only know the leic cruise is near croft jet ski centre or something. never been but prob full of chavs,theres a website. it used to be fosse park and various co-ops, mcdonalds, obviously they still do it lol. i wouldnt know
