camshafts

   what exactly is one, what does it do, wheres the best place to get them from and would it be worth fitting one to my furio (how much bhp would i gain)?
   ive read something on them but its not making anymore sense to me

   basically it opens your valves. different spec cams open your valves more/for longer or a mixture of both.
   dont go out and by the wildest cam there is though as you can over cam your car. get the right cam for what you want.

   if it would fit im sure it would, not sure if the bearing surfaces are the same diameter though.

   its the same head on all the 8valves i think definately worth looking into

   Anyway the point of asking is that i have a vtr cam in good condition just been removed from my car so if anyone wanted to try this i have it here

    if there going to be a guaranteed boost in performance of more than maybe 6-8 bhp then ill buy if i dont sell my car

    like stated couldnt be sure it would fit and im no mechanic mate so wouldnt even go there on fitting one i know someone who would do it for £100 though i noticed a hell of a difference with the new cam but thats a piper 285 not sure on effects of the vtr cam in to a furio or even if it would go in

    No dont think i could make it tomorrow cheers for asking my car is still in need of some tweaking as its missing in low revs i had my tappers nipped up a bit extra as they were noisey and the car didnt seem to like it so will prob try and get them sorted tomorrow
