Clunking front end???

My saxo currently makes a clunking noise when even going over slight bumps, also makes the same noise when steering, mainly when steering to park, any ideas of what it might be? Cheers

Is the noise when turning steering wheel, clunking when stationary only ?

Try tightening the nut that holds the strut in its housing, its a big round nut you have to turn it with a pair of mole grips, its just under the strut dust boot

Had this on my saxo took ages to figure out, and when i tightened it noise has gone away.

But it can also be the strut top bearing as stated also.

Sent from my SM-T560 using Tapatalk

Hi everyone ain't been on here in yonks ! , I fired up the old saxo that has been sitting around for two years , the car is making horribly crunching noises on turning , things that I have replaced are drop links , wheel bearings both drive shafts , gear shift is stiff as hell probably ain't helped it sitting so long , wondering if diff is buggered ! cheers

Strut top mounts can be faulty, the strut plate where the coil spring sits on may need some welding, they tend to loosen on saxos and make a clunk noise when steering particularly when dry steering. As for the gear shifter being stiff, i would start taking all the linkages off and grease them and refit them, and replace any worn parts if any

Sent from my SM-T560 using Tapatalk
