My 1.1 saxo has this tappety sound, and a rough idle also.

I probably know why it's idling rough, i pulled out the connector from the ICV and it runs like clockwork, so it would be the ICV, is that correct?

Also, what should or can i do about the tappety sound of the engine and what could cause this sound?

    Thanks!

sounds fine, that tapping is probably the valve clearances needing set. doesn't sound like a loose plug but it's worth checking.

As for a idle, when you say rough do you mean the revs are hunting? If so just cleaning the valve and the hole where it goes into will probably be enough to fix that.
