Is it normal for the fan to turn on frequently?

   I have a saxo with the 1.1 engine. When sitting in traffic with scorching heat these days, my fan turns on about every 1-2 minutes. Is it normal or i have an overheating issue?

   Normal when in traffic.
   
   if it's overheating, the red light will appear on the dashboard.

   Perfectly normal. Even a small air bubble would trigger the red.
