Help identifying Connectors for Single Plug ECU.

Hi,I'm doing a single plug ECU conversion for my VTS and I've identified most of the connectors but I'm still missing a few which I'm not sure about and would appreciate some help.

This is the chassis plug it uses,it is the engine side of the loom.

1.This black plug with a ring terminal close by,no idea what it is for.

2.This two connectors, radiator fan?

3.This white connector.

4.These three ring terminals, they're close to the oil level or pressure sensor brown connector but not sure what they're for,older style alternator? Although it only uses one bigger and smaller one,not sure which one of the two bigger terminals I need if that's the case?

5.This black connector.

No 5. is the fuel cut off switch that mounts on the strut top.

No.4 the 2 terminals on the right, the big one is for the alternator feed and the small one is for the alternator field coils.

Can't see where the other one is going, I suspect it's for the starter motor. You're too far zoomed in on all your photos.

3. Reverse switch on gearbox

2. Both connectors go into the rear of the engine bay fuse box. they'll only fit in one location.

1. Can't see where they exit the main loom. The black 2 pin plug looks like the "throttle body heater" plug.

Thank you Martin, I've now pretty much connected all the plugs up, I'm just waiting for the single plug ECU to arrive and see where I'm at.

Just trying to get this running now, I've only got these 2 plugs left with no home:

Have used the guide on here to splice the multi plug to go from 3 plugs to single plug ECU.
Definitely have some work to do has I have no 12v feed supply to the coil pack and injector loom when the ignition is on lol.

Weirdly I don't seem to have the eml light on the cluster as well,it only came on a few times when was using the diagnostic? Not sure what's going on but believe to be related to the above, haven't got any fault codes.

Have got speedometer,revs fuel, airbag lights etc though.

I've connected these 2 plugs to the fuse box as suggested and have 12v to these and working fuses.

I've got power to the fuel pump as it is priming and power to the starter as it spins.

Checked the Injector relay and got 12 volts on pins number 2/8/11/14/15 and 2,50 volts on pin 9, unsure how to use this info though as don't know what pins are supposed to do what.

Will keep looking.

If the diagnostic connector is working and giving you data and codes then the ECU definitely has power.

The injectors and the coil pack gets its feed from that main relay.

the wiring diagram for that relay is literally stamped onto the relay. it's a basic double relay it just has lots of pins. The big thick wires are for the coil pack, there's one thick one for the injectors. the rest are all little straggly things.

I think half of your relay is "off" check the relay coils are getting power.

Yeah I can see real time data with the Bosch diagnostic and all the values.

I got these for the ignition relay:
Ignition on 12v feed to: pin 2-8-11-15
Ignition off 12 feed to: pin 2-8-11-14-15 pin 9 has 2,5 volts

I did try the 3 plug brown relay and I do get power to injectors and coilpack it won't start though.

looks like you have a green plug on the blue sensor, blue plug should be on that, its for the gauge. green plug should go on a green 2 pin for the ecu (I think 3 plug has a single sensor for ecu and dash)

is the fuel pump priming on ignition on? push the button down on the inertia switch (or bridge the wires)

Yeah I might have those connectors swapped around to be honest,yeah the fuel pump definitely primes and works as normal.

To answer your question welshplug yes I did have those plugs in the right spot as I tried them as you said and an error code popped up about the coolant gauge lol.

How come I cannot see the engine speed while cranking? This should show up by the crankshaft sensor, I'm using this hole in the block to fit:

I'm also using the 96 to 00 Spoox flywheel earlier type,checked with them and they confirmed it works with both sensors.

Not sure what's going on but I don't think the crankshaft sensor is doing anything,not sure where to buy a genuine one as the major retailers don't have one.

Yes you need one of those brackets for that type to work.

Through the big hole you see only has 2 trigger points so it won't see the 60-2.

Sounds like you need that bracket plus the brown relay (if that gives you power to injectors, coil pack and fuel pump priming etc)

edit: in fact, think it'll still be the black relay. The ECU energises the coils and injectors when cranking. I don't think it sits with them live all the time.

Thank you Martin, you've been very helpful,yes I was just thinking that about the ECU and the 12v feeds, unfortunately on my own it's not that easy to crank it and check at the same time lol,but I think that's the case,I got a new relay in anyway.

Bought that bracket yesterday from Lithuania, apparently they're the same on 306s as well as they have the same part number 9612301380.

I hope I can get it running in time for the Simply French event at the Bealieu Motor Museum on the 17th July,been last year with the Saxo and was pretty fun.

Got it running now,all I had left to do was to swap the coilpack as the 3 plug grey one wouldn't spark.

I "only" got two error codes which is not that bad,one for lambda sensor malfunction (it has power) and one for the knock sensor.

For the lambda I'm using the 3 plug one which has a blue connector on a black ECU plug, I've ordered a early black plug one and hopefully that should fix it.

The other one i think it had the wrong plug on it, I've swapped it now otherwise I'll get a new sensor.

After fixing those and triple checking everything I can finally get a proper remap,hoping for 180 with the new inlet manifold but just want it to run properly mainly,I got a small video of it running (one speaker not working):

At least it's running, sounds like it has a bit of a miss though, but I guess it's maybe overfuelling if it's not mapped and you've made large changes.

lambda is different on the 3 plug, they use 2, hence the colour coded plug, you need one with the black plug.
