Corrosion rear axle mounts

   My 98 1.1 SX has what the local garage described as ‘badly corroded’ chassis where the rear axle mounts attach to it. Could this be terminal? The garage are competent welders but arent prepared to have a go repairing it and are saying it’s terminal.. anyone had the same issue?

   Sounds more of a fabrication than repair if I’m honest. Got to remember the mounts will be load bearing too so perhaps it would be best to consult a fabrication company?
