Ok, Heres The Suspension Setup

  1. #1
Hey guys. Looking for an answer from all the track addicts ( you know who you are! )

So heres what I propose to do. My car will be used on the road, track and possibly rally or hillclimb sprints.

I propose also to lower my car 60mm. What rate of springs would be ideal with this setup?:

    GMC Group N Bilsteins.
    Group N Rear Axle Mounts.
    Polybushed all round.
    25mm Anti-Roll Bar.

Also what would I be expecting to pay for all this including VAT?

    Many thanks!

Yeah I know. But Im thinking tarmac rallying!

maybe 50mm would be better. Im down 40mm now and i think it still sits too high for my liking. Im getting rid of my 16s in favour of 15s.

Anyway, back to my questions please.

have you looked into this rally thing properly or have you just had the idea?

no point in doing the other stuff if your going to deck it 60mm, might as well just leave it at springs tbh

Course i have. Ive been wanting to rally since i could spell the word.

My dads been rallying for 20yrs so hes been helping me loads but i want help from Saxo owners with experience. My dad says leave it 40mm.

Primarily, I want performance. But as I use my car everyday, I want it to look good too.

Does lowering 60 or 50 really hash up the handling?

Tell me please what you think as Im ordering my kit next week. ARB and Dampers etc.

wont lowering 60mm give you need to have stupidy hard springs to stop bottoming out, thus making your car all over the place on the road. then to run those those springs your gonna need a torsion bar to match

get it down 60 the handeling will be fine just make sure the tracks u go on are flat tracks or else ur gona have ursel bother

40mm on a rally car will leave you with NO sump.

    use stiffer standard height springs.

OK. Ignore my rally speech now please.

But is the setup that i stated above ok and is it one of the best you can get?

Can anyone advise me please on a setup like the above. I know some of you can.

sorry dude everything is good except the height

if you want performance then lower it 25mm & sort the damping, if its serious rallying then possibly raise it slightly IMO!! you will rip the car to shreds if its decked 40mm or more!!!

tarmac 35-40mm should b ok stiffer springs depends on your preferance & dampers depends on you also... different drivers prefere different styles...
