hi everyone just a quick question recently had a racing exuast put on got 4 into 1 manifold and straight through exhaust but now my magnex backbox sounds abit crap just a booming noise.just wounderd what you would recomend want somthing not to loud but sounds sweet.also every time i change gear my exhaust pops but only when i put the clutch in and change gear is this ok?why does it do this?

#4its the back pressure that makes it pop, when it releases pressure it goes pop.. shouldnt pop alot! this may indicate that its blowing, from my experience anyways... i also have a 4-1 & straight thru zorst it does pop too & very loud. love it...

#7Does a manifold make an exhaust 'pop' more then?
Ive got a decat/straight through exhaust and it pops a little but only when i use the gears to slow the car down...and i have to be going at the right speed to do it.
If i get a 421 manifold will it make it pop more??? -
#8love the sound of my exhaust, i have to go down a hill, to get to my house, and i usually drop it into 2nd and use the engine break to slow me down, and it always pops and gargles, loads of peeps comment on it, saying how healthy it sounds!!

#10i have a gmc 4-1 and the rest piper on mine and it pops sometime when i release the acelerator and slow down
think its more to do with the dacat then manifold but my manifold acts as a decat -

#17The seal between the mani and downpipe on my original manifold was fucked and my car used to pop like a bitch at high revs, I also found that turning my fuelling down (something you lot can't do
as I have a potentiometer) helped get rid of it as there were pockets of unburnt fuel being ignited when it mixed with the air. Once the mani was sealed it was fine again

#19My car is injection!... but it is pre-cat so I can freely adjust my fuel mixture!.... I have what is essentialy a 1.4 VTR same power but less torque and more revs

#20think the de-cat is whats making the popping noise when you drop down your gears mate

you can always get a silencer made up to get rid of it if you don't like it.
love it on mine though, can't wait to get a 4-2-1! -

#22i have a straight through pipe from the cat back n it pops n bangs all the time i had a decat on n it made it pop even more but was way 2 loud n got the wrong atention from the old bill so i took it off the popin noise is made by unburnt fuel egnighting in the hot exausti think it sounds ace
