hi, my 99 saxo vts sounds like its running on 3 cylinders ( i did put up a thread a while back ) i got a second hand coil pack ( i know this could still be the problem as there is a crack on the part where you plug it in ) is there any way of checking it. i was going to a spark plug in each 'plug lead' stand it on the block and crank car over to see if there's a spark. any other idea's???? or other suggestions?? also how do you get to the injectors?? cheers

#2If you put your car on a diagnostics machine it would tell you if it is your coil pack that has gone mate... take it down to your local garage...

#3Im not sure if coil pack would show up as it doesnt have a sensor specifically for that.
Do as you said above thats what i did with mine, removed coilpack, stuck the plugs in it, and cranked it up, middle 2 cyclinders died on 3 coilpacks on my vtr -
#4I'll have a second hand coilpack for sale end of next week. It'll be mint and working. Make me an offer. I'll quite happily allow you to buy it and if it doesn't cure your problem return it for a full refund (less postage)

#5cheers, ill try what i said, if no joy i'll take it to a gararge and see what they say.

christ, were they new coil packs?? -
#7Coilpack does come up on the fault codes. I had a fault code issue on my coil pack, replaced the coilpack and it came up again in 10 miles. Another coilpack in there, does the same again. Hence I have one spare now. Think the problem is down to the crank sensor. Will find out a week tomorrow

#8how bloody anoying, are they interchangable, ie i see you have a phase 2, i have a phase 1??
cheers -
#9yes, all VTS coilpacks are the same, just need a working one. Might me worth giving the crank sensor a bit of a check and a clean (if you can clean them!)

#10Thats weird my coil pack went on saturday when i was in Watford.Quote:hi, my 99 saxo vts sounds like its running on 3 cylinders ( i did put up a thread a while back ) i got a second hand coil pack ( i know this could still be the problem as there is a crack on the part where you plug it in ) is there any way of checking it. i was going to a spark plug in each 'plug lead' stand it on the block and crank car over to see if there's a spark. any other idea's???? or other suggestions?? also how do you get to the injectors?? cheers
I took it to the garage and they replaced all 4 and injector leads
cost me £800!! wankers -
#11You were done up the arse. There are no injector leads (I don't think) and a coilpack is about 125quid. Takes 10 mins to fit, if that

#12I know but i was away and my dad agreed with them and he paid for itQuote:You were done up the arse. There are no injector leads (I don't think) and a coilpack is about 125quid. Takes 10 mins to fit, if that
