Bypassing immobilizer on a 1.5 Diesel

    Hi there,

Sorry I mistakenly posted this somewhere else last time .... don't know where but any way ...

I know a guy who has just put a Saxo 1.5 diesel into a Pug 306 1.4 (petrol). He’s had several problems during the conversion but the biggie is that he can’t figure out how to bypass the 1.5’s immobilizer. Any ideas?

has he got the ecu keys and immob from original car?

    if so.

take steering colum surround off and remove plastic collar from around ignition barrel.
then put 1.5D key in this collar and put 306 key into ignition. (have these as far apart as the wires allow)
then with the 1.5D immob and ecu plugged in start the car.
with the car running unplug the immob.
the ecu will now be unlocked.
DO NOT plug 306 immob back in though.

I'm pretty sure he does'nt have them. We live in Barbados and he imported the engine from Martinique via France

I'll ask him but is there a procedure if he doesn't have access to the ecu key and the immob from original car?

not unless you have the computer software and hardware to unlock it or know someone that can. that is the only other way. sorry mate.

btw, why did he choose to put a 1.5D in?

That's bad news ... just checked with him and he doesn't have them! Yep I guess he choose the 1.5 diesel as an economical family run about ... gas here'a a killer.

has he not even got ecu? you cant run the diesal engien on a petrol ecu.

I’m no mechanic but he claims that the Pug had a standard carb and no ecu. He was hoping to do a “work around”. Go figure.

What has me nervous is that I just bought a 2.0L to put into my Pug …. and the same guys suppose to do the conversion for me ….. seems kind of dodgy now!

I’m just trying to help this guy out cause my car is next in line and that 2.0L has been sitting there collecting dust for over a month ….. waiting for him to finish this other 306.

Are there any Pug ecu’s he can use? … he’s really a Pug guy

i would use the ecu meant for that engine, not sure how he'll wire it in though i f the pug was carb before. is this guy a mechaninc?
