    Advice needed
Im considering lowering my 1.1sx. Just wanted some advice, on how much i should lower it by, what looks good, what doesnt. how i should lower it. and rough prices.
I really dont know anything about it, so any advice and info would be much appricated.

    thanks. Nikki

its up to you, have you got a kit on it? I'd guess around 200quid to fit it all up and 50quid for a set of lowering springs. I'd avoid anything more than about 30mm as it fecks the handling up, others though will tell you different

there is a place in sunderland supplies springs and lowers car for about £130. not sure how far away you are though.

Go for bout 30mm on a 1.1, save mods to archs etc, springs would cost you bout £50 and if you know anyone with a bit of car knowledge lowering the back on the torsion bar would be no trouble

i am down on 50mm all-round on a full kit, but that drop was done before i knew about handling etc it looks great, thankfully still handles good and no scrubbing even with 5 people in the car.

thats with 195/45/15 tyres, you might wanna take some plyers and clip off the plastic lugs that stick out inside the rear wheel arch as my tyres caught on those, but after that they were fine. no work done at the front.

For a set of springs itll be about £50
If you want the shocks aswel then itll be about £250 for shocks and springs

Personally on a base model Saxo 40mm is more than adequote as anything lower the back wheel will be above the arch line

Torsion bars can cost anywhere between £100 and £200 generally depending on where you go.
Just make sure they use the right method- Splines method is not the right way!

40mm down on 15" tyres you may encounter some rubbing on the back, this will occur most likely on the lip that goes inwards (feel just behind the back rubstrip) this will cost about £20 a side to sort out either by rolling the lip upwards or cutting off the lip altogether- either way make sure if the paint is damaged then get some rust treatment on there as precaution
