Open Induction Kits...

Do I get one? I heard that you loose power though, and in my 1.1 i really need all the power i can get! I mainly want it for sound. Is the power loss that much, and can anyone recommend one for me?

If its sound ur primarily after then an open kit is for you. The reason they are said to lose power is because they can draw in hot air from a hot engine. once the car is moving and a cold airflow is getting into the engine bay it will be fine.

Most people setup dedicated air feeds to their open induction kits to make sure they have nice cool air getting to them.

Cold air is denser and therefore more fuel will be mixed creating a bigger bang.
Warm air is less dense and so less fuel will be mixed with it and a lesser bang produced. :Y:

you wont notice any power gain with just an induction kit

With all engine Mods it all works on a 'Waterfall Effect' eg

A Induction Kit won't do much on it own But with a Free Flow Exhaust you might see a increase, then abit more with a Manifold, then abit more with a Ported & Polished Head, Then better ingition, Then . . .

Its all a case of How fast do you want to go? and How much are you willin to Pay to got That Fast?

For a 1.1ltr a Nice open Induction Cone and a Nice Exhaust will sound good and make you feel your going faster than you really are.

And thats no bad thing, Not everyone can afford a Redline Flame spittin 16v'er which some people forget. Go for it!
