i started to get a tinging noise from under my car so i took it to the garage to see if he could find out what it was while i bounced the car up and down. he said the noise is coming from the torsion bar. he siad it sounds like the bearings have gone. can i change the bearings or is it a new torsion bar? he said the sound is coming from behind the plate for the torsion bar. am gona take wheel off this weekend and look behind the plate. has anyone else had this problem before. help much apprieciated.

there's a 13mm bolt that holds the anti-roll bar end plates in (one at both sides), they get all rusty and covered in shit and the plates start to slip ever so slighty as the suspension is compressed. undo them (plenty of wd40 as they can and do snap the heads off), then copper grease them, refit and it should go away.
