Knocking front suspension...

My front suspensin is knocking all the time..
When i drive on a paved road it really sounds bad (a bouncing, knocking sound) and it gives me a unsave feeling.. So i don't drive the sax at this moment.

Als when i turn the steering wheel when i'm standing stil you hear a knock, and when you look at the wheel when turning the steeringwheel you can see the wheel not moving smoothly bit it waits a second before it reacts.

Will get it to the garage soon, anybody any ideas what it could be??

best get it in the air and start wobbling bits , could be several things but you'll not know till its in the air

hope its a cheap easy fix for ya

could be your ball joints or strut top bearing

check your bottom arm bush's and top mounts too,

get a mate to stand and look at the car then, give it a bit of revs and let the clutch out to like pull off but dont pull off like and get your mate to see if your wheels look like they kick backwards too much towards the arch, if they do replace your bush's on your bottom arms, easy to get em off get a garage to put the bush's on and refit, will cost you £25 tops else a garage will prob say u need new arms at £80 a piece and it will be sorted

if its this i had it on mine an sounds like thats it

Was looking with some friends at the sax yesterday on a clubmeeting.
When i turn my steering wheel you can see the strut top bearing on the driverside move around like hell, looks realy nasty, the passsengerside strut top bearing just mover nice an smooth but the driversides one wobbles all around.
Then jacked the driversside up and startet wobbling the wheel, there is a bit of movement on the wheel (don't look normal to me) and there is movement at the top of the strut on the strut top bearing.
One mate keeped the steeringwheel from moving, and when we wobbled the wheel you heared an knocking noise.

I also notice a knock when i brake or pull of, could that be maked by the same problem??

(on't really know how to explain this in english but i'll try)

Also we noticed that the caps on the strut that keeps the damper in place insn't screwed on as far as it should, so the damper can move up and down a little bit in the shaft of the stut.
This thaks to the company that lowered my car. (company no longer exhists)
They couldt get the nut on top of the stut lose they unscrewed the cap that holds the damper in place so they coud mount te springs.
Now i hope they didnt damage the screw thread on the strut..

Will get it to a garage that did some work for me earlyer (changed the clutch)
And wil him sort it al out for me..
Will let him check al the joints and stuf and let him take a look at the driveshafts.
Also will let them mount a set off new shorter dampers wghen they take te suspension appart.

Ouch, that's a bit shit. Best to buy uprated parts when you replace anything, group N top mounts really help to give a bit more control
