Power steering pump

    I came out of work yesterday to find that my power steering pump was nakerd anyone else had this problem and how much did it cost?

    bout £250 for a new pump, and then labour costs, so its quite expensive.

    u can hit it with a hammer (softly) and see if it comes back on.

    yep, worked for alot of people, mechanics do it aswell. I'm not saying it will definitely work, but its worth a try.

    I've went through 3 power steering pumps on my car. Common fault with Saxos.

    i got one from the scrap yard for £80, but u can get a second hand one cheaper!

    I paid £50 to have power steering pump fitted and Group N engine mounts, which was a very good price.

    1st quote £140
    2nd quote £90
    3rd quote £95
    and 4th £50!
