screeching noise?

    hey all... noticed the other day that sometimes there is a real screeching/scratching noise coming from my engine when im sat idoling but as soon as i drop the clutch this noise dissapears? can anyone give me some idea as to what it might be?

    wen your idelling do you have the clutch pressed or not could be your release bearing

    perhaps a small child is stuck in your engine bay but you can only hear it when ur idleing? Small children in the bay are usually also accompanied by a rattle or other toys. does your saxo rattle?

    I have no idea sorry, im just bored at work making my rounds in the Advice/Tech forums

    My VTS has a slight screeching when Idoling and especially when I start the car and when my mechanin serviced her the other day he said its definately the Clutch release bearing, hope that helps.

    I apparently Need a new clutch :-( (Not my driving ) Like it when i bought it ;-)

    how much is the clutch release bearing going to cost to get sorted out then?

    best to stick a full clutch kit in mate,price wise depends on your budget,you can get a re-con kit or personally i would just buy a new kit as there isnt much difference in price nowadays
