hi everyone got a small problem .got a specially made manifold from piper cost me 400 quid all pipes equal length and perfect match to my custom centre section. just nealy every time i go over a large speed bump the bottom of the manifold scrapes.my cars lowerd 35mm.what would you do?
manifold

#1

#2fit better suspension that isn't so low
-
#3I'm guessing you're using some cheapish springs and low end dampers?
-
#4Alternative is to trade manifolds with someone with a less radical 4-2-1 which has a decent ground clearance. I have a Miltech if you're interested? (Heat wrapped, about 4 months old)
-
#5mine has only catched once and im 50mm
-
#6paid too much for my manifold to get rid.its a 4 into one.ive got a full gmax kit on.want to upgrade what would you recommend.also got a magnex back box on but it sounds too boomy.ive got the manifold and staight through pipe too back box no cat.just woundering what back box anyone could recommend to give it a real nice sound and make it pop even more if its possible.thanks

#7magnex is probley the most quietest you can buy
unless you go custom -
#8harder springs. H&R 30mm should be fine or customs. Bin the Gmax for billis

#9another quick question.ever since ive had my head modified and manifold on when i first switch the car on in the morning and touch the eccelerator you can hear rushing of water going througth the engine but only when the peddles pressed is it ok?also since the manifolds been on when you press the eccelerator just slightly theres a loud ticking noise.had modified head & cam and bigger valves could it be that.thanks

#10Ive never heard of a manifold that scapes, not that I don't beleve you.
35mm is quite a moddest drop too, IMO it sounds like someone measured wrong, either change your suspension setup or like (I think most would agree with) change your manifold. Even tho it cost quite a lot swap it for somethin like a Supersprint.
Back boxes sometimes, Centre Boxs once in a blue moon but never a Manifold! Get it off b4 it does any damage -
#11Petrol thing - Weird, no idea.
ticking - sounds like the fannymould knocking on something,, probably the block. Should be ok, worth checking though -
#12The original GMC manifolds scraped like fuck. Good though

#13woln't worry about the water noise unless you get hot or leaking any water. Not sure about the other noises. 4ur own peace of mind check the manifold bolts and then ask where u had all the work done in ref to the head noise. If the go away when the car warms up then u may just need different oil. But have it looked at just to be on the safe side. I would just to be sure. ok m8 :-)
