I think you should do it, ive de-cat'd my car and have no regrets but i hear that the police or something are starting to check for de-cat'd cars and theres an £800 fine....

konis are good, magnex is also very good and also quite quiet, perfect in other words.

is that £800 fine if you're decatted true??

Is that a good price for the konis? and theyre only goin down 30-35mm, will this look alright with vtr wheels?

Im looking for something loud when its revved, but not droning on the motorway, any such thing???

I think so but that was only what i was told by a friend so who knows..... I would personally go Custom (powerflow) Ive done this and have no regrets

magnex is just perfect in my opinion, if you want your car to sound like a fat person farting in a bath then buy a peco. speak to Gaz at gsmotorsport, he may be able to do you a set cheaper but i don't think thats a bad price (although i'd save a bit more- another 100 or so-and get bilsteins from gmc)

i wouldnt go powerflow, when i got my car mapped i was told my powerflow was restricting it so i am changing it for an OMP grp N system.

dont want it to sound like a fat person farting lol, but dont want it quiet so you cant hear it, maybe look into getting a custom one.

are the bilsteins that much better than konis? dont want spax gmax and all that crap, i take it the konis are much better than them?
  10. #10
unless you pay loads for a GOOD custom system then you wont get anymore power.
  11. #11
im not looking for power, its only a vtr at the end of the day, just want something that sounds good when its revved but not drone on the motorway cause i had that problem with my old clio and it done my head in lol
  12. #12
konis are better than spax, billies are better than konis
  13. #13
im not doin track either so i dont need an amazing setup, just want something to lower it properly without using just springs. so how will it look, 35mm maybe on vtr wheels?
  14. #14
will still look a bit high for my liking but it's down to personal taste at the end of the day
  15. #15
ive not seen any konis that go lower, do the billies go lower? maybe 50mm?
  16. #16
yes the gmc kit comes with either 40mm or 50mm springs but the 50mm springs are quite soft and of those who have had them not many were all that keen on them. you can buy the dampers and springs sperately though.

the konis will be a good buy for what you want. you may get them cheaper, look around, that postage cost on ebay is a con

    GMC springs are 200lb iirc.
i have the GMC 50mm on koni dampers and they're ok imo. used to use the koni springs but it looked too high.
