Is this junk?

Is this what it says will it really increase power as stated? Its not one of those crap resistor things so im not really sure

Been on here a few times, people slate this one too, just an over priced resistor lol
  3. #3
yes it is, you could pick one up for about 10p

So what ways is there of getting power gains after an induction kit and full exhaust without spending huge money, thats why i was looking at engine management. How much would a remap cost and what would the gains be like? or any type of chips?

no its not not mate it is as its said. it is actually a superchip and not a resistor. you may see 8-9 bhp from it but not as much as he says. he's a chap from leicester who runs a generic map on the chip.

It wouldnt do any damge then would it?
  7. #7
of course not. i honestly have quizzed him and even bought one off him for my old blacktop vtr but never got round to fitting it!

it ia the type that you have to have soldered onto the ecu and can be remapped again if you get a cam or whatever

but soldering it to your ecu can mess it up if you do it wrong, a generic chip is just made for any car with a certain size engine and not for a specific car.

wrong! it is made for a certain car but not mapped to the mods that car has. its just a guestimate of fuel to air mix for the mods on the car.

I got one and fitted it to my standard vtr since had it remapped, there was a noticble difference in first gear and second worth it for a quick fix and to see a bit of a increase but like stated a proper map would be better and there is a increased limiter on this chip too, however you will be looking at a good sum to get it installed and then it needs your ecu immobiliser code transferring across

i didnt even look at it. 14 bhp for 80 quid, only if it was that easy
