i have got myself a gti engine with the ecu, gearbox, starter motor and engine loom.
what other parts would i need to get?
its fitting onto a 1.4 phase 2

inlet manifold, exhaust manifold, would guess youve already got them, almost positive in thinkin you need one of the fuse boxs, not sure, but 99.9% sure you need the mount on the top left, if youre looking at the engine its the one just to the right of the ecu. think its got more holes in the mount or summat!! but your pretty much there m8, gud luk!!

is your car a 3 plug ecu? i would use the vts loom as it will be easier.
you'll need a some hosing to connect rad to thermotwat, even beter if you can get 16v rad. you can use your starter and alternator.
you'll also need the ecu unlocked, i would also use the 16v ecu engine mount.

williams do you know how do to the wiring ie could you talk someone through it? (either gti into mk1 or mk2 vts into mk1 vtr?)

i would personally just go for the vts loom as its a straight plug in. not sure on what wire choppage is needed.
just use the same plug ecu as what the car originally had and a saxo loom and it will be plug and play.

what do you mean? you cant get hold of a single plug loom?

can you use a mk1 16v loom on a mk2 16v engine though?

there the same arnt they it was only vtrs what changed wasnt it
awaits to be told the engine section as i know nothing

single plug to 3 plug or vise versa is whee the problems lye.
just use the same plug version saxo loom and you'll have no worries.
