Raceland Airfilter

   Just bought a raceland airfilter from ebay any ideas on fitting as theres no instructions it from belgium. this is the 2nd one i've had from them as the 1st one fell down and melted to the manifols. Any ideas would be great.

   hi thats weird i was thinking of getting one.
   well before the old one melted how was it performance wise?
   would you recommend one?
   as far the fitting goes, i'm thinking the pipe will connect to your throttle body and the "funnel" air intake should fasten onto the front grill.

   thats exactly waht i thought but there is no bracket to fix it to the grill unless your able to bodge 1. apart from it not fitting properly great sound higher up in the revs but didn't really notice anything performance wise. i did have a k+n panel filter in there i'd say there about the same just looks and sounds better!

   thats strange as i thought it would fit were the origonal one was as really its the same just bigger.
   according to gmc motorsport those types of filters work really good, just shows you can't trust what peeps say.
   
   just a shot in the dark but would you be interested in a polished vtr/westcoast throttle body, i just got it and now one of the allen bolts won't budge and can't be arse trying anymore.

   how much? and will it fit a vts? if not i've got a mate with a furio.
   
   no it not the one from gmc wasn't gonna pay £200 quid for an air filter it was from raceland on ebay should have just bought a green cotton but i still need to find out to fit 1 properly this time!

   I bought one of these filters from ebay. They sound great but are a nightmare to fit. I decided to buy some L shape brackets and screw them into the holes left by the original air filters pipe, that in essence draws the cold air from the front of the car. I then drilled some holes in the top of the filter. To stop the new filters case cracking i put masking tape around where i was drilling the holes. I then got some washers and most importantly some rubber washers and bolted the new filters casing onto the L shape brackets.
   Making sure that the rubber washers were joining onto the filters casing not the steel washers.
   
   Its worked for 1000 miles of bumpy country roads!!!

   mine came with L shaped bracket.
   
   i had to move power steering fluid bottle also.
   
   sound is great, but try not to get a snug fit as this will be moving/rubbing/breaking about with engine movement.

   hi don't think so as a vts is 16v
   but i think vtr furio etc have the same diametre inlet so should be fine,
   about £40 as it cost £30 to get the throttle body.

    I have just replaced my Green Ram Air Filter (Cone ina scoop) the pipe out of the scoop (which the cone is attached to) joined the OE 90o Hose which comes off the Throttle body then the scoop fits flush with the slam panel and is fixed using the same holes that the OE Air box system used.
    
    One of the reasons I decided to go back to a open filter was 1) For the price the Green was really poor quality, No hose's came with the kit I ended up buyin my own Blue Silicone 2) The cone was smaller than I expected and 3) Im not looking for every pony under the bonnet so I went back to an open filter for alittle bit more induction noise.

    Here below, you can see how the Green Ram Air fits flush against the slam panel, there are two bolts that fix the scoop to the panel. The other end is supported by the hose which fits to the throttle body.

    The engine breather+pipe and VTS badge were also not included in the package supplied by Green. Very Very Poor value for money IMO

    How did you make that breather up, what's the pipe measurement?

    off hand . . . Not sure but I'll check when I get home from work. As for how did I make it, its straight tubin same bore as OE breather pipe then just attached the breather filter to the end of the hose, moved about about abit as it wasn't bolted down but it did sit quite nice between the front rocker cover and the scoop housing. Didn't even rattel on the move :-)

    Take alook on www.espdesign.co.uk they do hose's you maybe able to get what you want from there plus there might do breathers.

    just looked @ the invoice from the company i bought it from and its tuning leader? there an ebay shop.
