Throttle body management?

  1. #1
A Quick and something I should really know but......

Can throttle bodies be run on the standard ECU (Obviously after Remap?)

    Or

Is it Standalone all the way?

    Cheers

Yes, though I don't know its been done and

Standalone is definately the way forward.

TBs are pushing the standard ECU to far apparently

Dave you were the last person i expected to answer this thread I thought you'd be in the general chat section talking about what you had for dinner last night or telling people your favorite colour.

    Standalone it is then.

    Cheers

There's some interesting posts on SSC at the moment it seems to have found its form.

One of the threads is very distracting

The new GMC efforts look great, though how much cheaper they'll be remains to be seen. If you're serious about them I may be able to sort a deal out as I have a contact who used to work at Jenvy and they may be able to do a deal

I'm just trying to weigh up a price for everything but I'd be interested to hear what deal he's offering.

Speeking to Wayne he seemed to think it could, though that was a couple of years back. I honestly can't see how the standard ECU couldn't be changed to run ITBs

that said its a pointless excersise as setting it all up would probably be more hastle than its worth
  11. #11
Can run on either, standalone of fully remapped, get it setup proffesionaly and itl be fine - it will take some fair time and money for setup mate.
  12. #12
Surely standalone is a better option though?

Quote from Jay8v on the SSC

    Quote:
Engine with TB's requires mapping using TPS, Magnetti Marelli controls via MAP and TPS. TB's dont give stable pressure readings for MAP readings to be used as a feedback to the ECU like a single butterfly with larger inlet manifold
Standalone would be less hastle for sure

Well its up to you and your funds mate, i dont think it will run any different on either when remapped.
There is upsides to both, if u want to keep standard management on car then remapp that, if you are putting bodies etc on and your going to look to sell in the future (put car back to standard) then get standalone, as you can seel with package of bodies or seperatly.

What have you done to car, its a vts im guesing?

I'll try again as that last load of shit made no sense...

    Raceland airfilter
Full exhaust system with decat and 421.
Its an mk2 vts engine 3 plug Ecu.

I'd want to add a cam with the t/b's to get the most out of them and also save on mapping costs (in theory).

dastek can run them but as you said standolone all the way. superior
