magnex or piper

basically, im getting a full system..... and want to know the ups and downs of piper and magnex... there both the same price except the magnex one comes with a middle silencer thing which will cost like an extra 40 quid to get rid of so i get a more raspy sound........ so, any ideas?

    thanks

I think the Piper exhausts are know for a more raspier sound compared to a Magnex.
Magnex have a very low rumble sound but definatly open up when you give it some.

i know someone who has a 3.5" rolled ouit on a vts and personally i think it sounds the nuts.

not to loud on tick over but nice when u give it some. and a bit of a burble which every boday loves

Have people made good gains with the Piper?

Alot of the 150-160bhp Saxo's I've seen are packing a Magnex underneath the bumper.

If you want sound then its Piper. Theres no point spending an extra £40 to change the centre section of the Magnex when the Piper will probably still be louder.

ets2k9- I think they may have done other mods aswel. But choice of exhaust may only make a few bhp difference.

I've had a Piper and miss the sound, but doubt the neighbours do. I have a Magnex now and am very happy.

I only sold the Piper as it was a quad system and didnt fit in with the style i was going for lol.

I know there's a whole host of other mods required to hit 150-160 bhp , I was just trying to understand why everyone raves about piper.

It seems people like them for the sound and price rather than the performance gain they offer (I might be wrong though).

I suppose it makes little difference but I was reading about Williamsvts and his powerflow system apparently contributed to him loosing a few horses after a remap.

I'm just looking at getting the most I can out of an exhaust hence why I asked about the performance gains.

    THE END.

Really, is that true about the powerflow thing, Is it worth me selling it and getting a Piper?
  11. #11
Apparently so but I'd speak to Williams about it, I'll dig the thread out where I read it.

    Give me a few mins...

OK im only using a powerflow backbox though and it seems ok, well so i thought anyway lol

ive had a 4inch slash cut piper and a magnex and out off the 2 i would say the magnex is better

Id go for a piper... i noticed a slight performance gain from my piper backbox alone on my furio... the accelerator seems to be a lot more responsive...

Cant really comment on the magnex as i have never owned one, although they seem to fit awkwardly - many stick out too far in my opinion.

And you can't beat the sound of a piper, this is my piper backbox video so it would sound a lot louder if you had a full system...
