#2just get some bigger calipers and a good set of standard discs and pads mate i've had a few "performance" discs and pads and found the only difference is that you end up replacing your discs and pads alot more often and there wasnt that much of an improvement in breaking either IMO
cant really think of anywhere else to try if your set on getting drilled or grooved discs maybe halfrauds or motorworld? -
#3yeah halfords do them mate,
i have drilled and grooved, cant really notice much dif to be honest -
#4unless ur going on track days every day i wouldnt bother. just get black diamond from demon tweeks. u will get trough pads quicker but they work the best in normal conditions
-
#5i see so now im kind of thinking that i should just get some new standard ones from europarts or something
-
#6yeah mate thats probally the better idea

#7In my experiences the cheap 'original replacement' stuff from local motor factors, etc is pretty crap. You can get replacement discs and pads for about £30 all in...
It depends what you want from your brakes i guess... normal round town, then i suppose get the cheapest you can.
The last set i bought were through GSMotorsport. -
#8ive got standard size discs that are drilled and grooved and don't really notice that much differece apart from when im contiueously braking hard. and got some Mintex pads and there the best brakes ive had.
but saying that i had some green stuff before the mintex so anything else will make a differnce becasue Green Stuff are proper S**T -
#9Well....
There are many different companies trying to provide drilled or grooved or both set ups on a disc.
When retaining the standard size disc and adding a grooved or drilled element to them we dont expect the customer to instantly see a massive performance gain. They will however help that bit more with heat disipation when you have been driving for an extended amount of time.
If you are not using the card for a track day we would say something Black Diamond grooved discs are more than enough.
At around £99.99 delivered for a set they are quite good value. (priced on a 1.4 Furio set)
When it comes to pads we have had alot of feed back that Green stuff just do not do the business and that less dust normally equals less braking. Alot of customers do enjoy the Mintex 1144 route as they have the reputation and have shown good braking.
We recommend to stay away from the budget brakes which come in at £20-£50 a set of brakes. At the end of the day the brakes are 1 of the most important parts of your car. When it comes to safety we dont believe in budget products. Our cars are our pride and joys and we want products that will help us stop or avoid accidents
With our new brake site going live within the next month just shout for quotes whenever. We wont let you down

#10Mintex 1144s have been on the front of my car for about a year now. They seemed happy enough with the big stops at the ring so they should be bang on on a furio. Good cold start performance too

#11Agreed.
Ive been using Mintex 1144's on all my cars now for 5 years. Never had a problem with them to be honest. We did use Black Diamond pads actually once and we quite liked them. -
#12thanks for advise guys, seem to have a mixed opinion here, im in two minds now lol
